Helina has always been a witch and has known it since childhood. Talking with trees, plants and animals was all very normal for her; she would recite funny incantations thinking it was ‘just’ poetry and she’d cast spells in the playground as part of role-play games - secretly believing wholeheartedly that the spells were real (because they are)! With crystals here and tarot cards there, this witchy journey has been a tapestry of self-discovery, weaving together diverse facets of healing, spirituality, and self-love to create intuitive, unique, and holistic experiences for people.

Born in Mauritius but raised in London since she was 2 years old, Helina has grown with both her British and Creole-islander identities. Her early life was filled with a love for the vibrancy of the city, yet she felt a deep longing to be closer to her ancestral roots, and the tropical lagoons and forests of Mauritius called to her. She lived in Mauritius for a decade and built an academic career in higher education over there; she holds a PhD in Ecolinguistics and Education from St Mary’s University, Twickenham. She’s also a poetry and short story writer, winning the international Prix de Poésie Edouard Maunick in 2019. She’s taught and researched meditation, mindfulness, and creative expression in the higher education setting in Mauritius, as well as facilitating circles and workshops with the public. Whilst living on the island, she lived the beauty and strength of sisterhood through a woman’s circle that met each Sunday near Flic en Flac beach and this radically transformed her life. Though the academic pathway is enriching, Helina delved deeper into the spiritual dimension of holistic philosophies and began blending her intellectual, cultural, and creative sides with the awakened energy of her spirituality.

As a certified Reiki Master, she embarked on this path seeking harmony and vitality, channelling universal energy to heal the physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of existence. This ancient Japanese practice transformed her life and guided her towards a deeper calling. Helina is a Reiki teacher of Usui/Holy Fire III and, for her, this healing art is an expression of the essence of Love. Reiki and eclectic witchcraft are at the heart of all she does and an integral part of the bespoke plans she creates for people who work with her offerings.

Pranic Psychotherapy became her next divinely guided training with the Centre for Natural Healing and Meditation in Mauritius, delving into the intricate web of the mind and etheric body. She learned new techniques to channel higher frequencies for cleansing and rejuvenating energetic imbalances and empowering the chakras - helping individuals heal not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. Her quest for inner peace led her to become a meditation and mindfulness teacher and she followed a course with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre to anchor into both spiritual and secular approaches. Guiding others on the path to self-awareness and tranquility, she witnessed profound transformations in those embracing these practices, which motivates her to continue walking this soul path.

Helina then discovered the philosophical expansiveness of Tantra and, through that, she embraced a deeper sense of authenticity, vulnerability and sexual magick. She became naturally drawn into the playfulness of dancing with the polarities of domination and submission and has studied sacred sex through the teachings of Gaby Herstik, as well as practising as a Domme for several years. 

In this realm of sensual embodiment and conscious kink, she discovered that connecting with our bodies and desires is sacred and can be a profound act of self-love and empowerment. Her multifaceted journey includes shamanic training with Suzanne Wolf Mother, Feminine Heart embodiment with Stephanie Cristina Engeli, Munay-Ki with A Love Affair with the Divine, and Sacred Dance facilitation with Farah Orths; all have reinforced her belief in Magick as a higher energy of the Universe and Love as our true essence, as well as the transformative power of body acceptance and healing through eclectic spirituality. There are infinite ways we can explore and nurture our true selves on the path to wholeness and Helina, as Reiki witch, is merely a guide and facilitator for others to discover the magick and altar that lies within.
